Snowshoe hiking and winter hiking
In the midst of winter magic – depending on your mood, as a walk or all day, by day or moonlight, on your own or with a guide, leisurely or sporty ... Hiking with snowshoes is possible in many different ways and offers direct contact with the wintry landscape in the Ötztal.
Cross-country skiing
In a skating step or in classic style over the most beautiful trails - the Ötztal offers cross-country skiers numerous opportunities to pursue this healthy fitness sport on the approximately 185 km of skating and classic high-altitude trails. Our tip: The trail near Zwieselstein is wildly romantic and one of the most scenic. Length: 7 km Running style: skating, classic Difficulty level: medium
Tobogganing
From Sautens to Vent, there are a number of toboggan runs, some of which are illuminated and have a shuttle service. Well-organized tobogganing evenings and original transfers to the tobogganing huts make these popular events a special experience for the whole family ... Our tip: You are welcome to book tobogganing trips directly with us at the hotel - just ask at reception!
Ski tours in the Ötztal
Off the slopes - the Ötztal is a paradise for ski tourers. High up, on the peaks of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, Gries, Niederthai and Vent, ski tourers will find their paradise. The Venter Runde in the Ötztal Alps in particular is a real ski tour classic and is one of the most popular "Haute Routes" in the Eastern Alps.
Ice skating and curling
Glide on ice skates over frozen lakes and ice surfaces, accompanied by a few bars of music - authentic romance that hasn't changed for centuries ... Ice skating is probably one of the oldest winter sports and a nice balance to skiing. In addition to ice skating, curling is also a tradition again. Our tip: A special highlight is ice skating on Lake Piburg, although this is only possible/permitted if the ice surface is a certain minimum.
Ice climbing
Not a sport for everyone - but an ice-cold adventure in which the waterfalls of the Ötztal play the main role. There are several options, even beginners can try ice climbing. Crampons and ice tools are part of the basic equipment. Experienced mountain guides show you the right technique.
